What does RETN stand for?

What do I do if I am having difficulty connecting to an RETN event?
Make sure you are registered to receive the event. If so, call the RETN help desk at 817-740-7616 to request assistance.

How do I record RETN events?
You must have permission from the presenting site before you can record any video conferencing events. Click here for step-by-step recording instructions.

How do I know if my system is connected?
You should see yourself on the local TV (right side) and see another site on the remote TV (left side). You could be connected and see yourself on both TVs while waiting for the remote site to connect. If your still not sure, call the RETN help desk at 817-740-7616.

How do I know if the microphone is on?
Always assume you are being heard over the system. On the Galaxy/ESA system the microphone indicator light will be red if it is turned on. If using a Polycom the microphone light will be off if the mic is on. If you have ceilling mounted microphones, once the system is turned on, everyone can hear you until the system audio is muted.

What does it mean if the TV displays Video 1.
The equipment (codec) is not turned on.

Contact your Site Manager and they are responsible for this procedure. If you are the Site Manager, go to http://www4.esc11.net:81/retn/main.htm and click on the Site Manager button.
