Rusty Brawley, previously with Alvord ISD, was especially grateful for the opportunity to receive courses in his district. "You guys do a great job of providing to me a valuable service. Without the job that you are doing I would not be able to get my Master's. There is absolutely no way I could afford to drive nor would I be able to have the time. This opportunity is due to the job that the staff at Region XI is doing," Rusty said. |
Texas is a vast state with a rich and varied history. From pre-historic Native American Indians through the Spanish exploration; from Texas' Independence through the Civil War; from statehood to modern times, each area in Texas can claim a place in history. ESC Regions XI, XIV, and XVI are co-sponsoring a live videoconference on September 29th, inviting seventh grade Texas History students to present their unique local Texas history story to the rest of the state. According to Anne Herndon, Assistant Director, School Services at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, participating schools often provide fantastic feedback about the programs the FWMSH staff have created for distance learning. Susan Gentry, Granbury ISD said, "What a wonder! Only a few days after Mrs. Laura Jackson's class joined Ms. Gentry's class for a distance learning program called Out of the Blue! Meteorites in Your Backyard, Abram Friesen used the techniques shown to find these!" Herndon replied, "This encourages me to see one of the powerful ways I hope we can connect with teachers and students through distance learning." Gentry added, "Thanks to the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History for enriching the learning environment for Acton Elementary School in Granbury."
